Who doesn’t love an easy to make delicious casserole?! Well, with this green bean casserole with cheese you can make it ahead of time, and relax during the holiday!

I’ve been refining this recipe for green bean casserole with cheese for some time now, and luckily I’ve perfected it just in time for Thanksgiving.

I’m glad I did because in my opinion, it’s one of the best takes on the classic creamy green bean casserole, without all it’s carbs (looking at you onions!).

Very excited to finally show you how to make green bean casserole in just three simple steps. Especially for those at home still wondering what to make for Thanksgiving this year.

2020 has been a crazy year, having taken so much from us. So it only feels right that our Thanksgiving table should fight back the negativity that has surrounded us.

I guess in my mind a great Thanksgiving feast will help us recover against the year’s hardship, and help us focus on the positive that we should be thankful for.

So my focus was to ensure my Thanksgiving food was all about positivity, being healthy, and eating delicious green bean on keto!

My recipe for green bean casserole with cheese is keto friendly, and just the fresh thanksgiving side I needed to add to my festive low carb spread.

How to Make This Green Bean Casserole with Ease

My recipe is easy to follow, requires very little prep time, and has the perfect amount of flavor to impress even the toughest of critics.

Here’s what you’ll need:

With every bite you’ll taste the wholesome ingredients that help create the rich, flavorful, and creamy casserole. Yummmm!

This recipe is topped with a crispy crumble made with good old almond flour, that substitutes the carby crispy onions that are usually added to a green bean casserole.

The crispy crumble is honestly my favorite part, as it adds flavor and texture to this already delicious casserole.

My top goal was to make it easy for you to have an amazing Thanksgiving side dish in under 40 minutes.

Just Follow These 3 Simple Steps:

1. Wash and boil your green beans:

By boiling the green beans, you’ll ensure that they’ll cook completely in the oven. If you skip this step you’ll end up with slightly crunchy green beans.

2. Mix your ingredients well:

Make sure that your ingredients are mixed thoroughly so you can get a consistent amount of flavor in every bite. (Especially those delicious bacon bites)

3. Bake until the crumble is golden brown:

To reach the perfect amount of texture in your crumble, you’ll need to wait until your crust is a rich golden brown color. That’ll give you a delicious crunch.

All of the ingredients in this recipe are very accessible and some of them may already be in your pantry!

The Iconic Thanksgiving Casserole

I really don’t think a Thanksgiving is possible for me without this iconic dish. So I did my best to give it as much green bean on keto flair as possible!

Note, in order to get the perfect texture, fresh green beans are the way to go, so forget about the canned green beans as they’ll become mush.

It’s a practical dish that can be prepared in advance and kept refrigerated, so you don’t have to rush right before dinner.

Personally, I love preparing my casseroles the day before, it’s just so much better when I don’t feel the stress between the turkey madness!

The best part is that the leftovers can also be heated up quickly, which is super convenient because who doesn’t love Thanksgiving leftovers!?

While it’s generally considered a side dish, I’ve added some bacon bits to elevate its flavor and make it a complete dish.

When I started incorporating those bacon bits in my recipe, everyone LOVED it.

It’s an absolute crowd-pleaser!

Bring On the Compliments!!

My green bean on keto recipe got great responses from my family, friends and particularly my boyfriend (as he proceeded devour the leftovers).

Everyone will be raving about how amazing your green bean casserole was this Thanksgiving.

It’s the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving meal festivities and it also works as the perfect dish for a potluck.

No one will ever ask you to make it any different!

You can even use it for parties, since it’s a better version of the original, and people love feeling healthy!

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I really recommend getting your ingredients ready to create this delicious green bean casserole with cheese.
