After being forced to look away from Aunty Ann’s delicious pretzel selection, I couldn’t help but make a sugar free pretzels cinnamon treat to combat my pretzel cravings!

For me pretzels are the perfect snack, and always seem to remind me of fun times at the mall.

I mean, let’s be honest, who hasn’t repeatedly gotten free samples of Aunty Ann’s delicious pretzels (I definitely did!)

As a pretzel fanatic, I had to see whether a sugar free pretzels recipe was actually possible for keto.

Lucky it is! Fathead dough is used as the integral ingredient that makes these carb free pretzels a reality.

It’s frankly just as good or dare I say, better than traditional pretzels!

A carb free pretzels recipe was long overdue on my blog, not only because I LOVE soft baked pretzels, but also because my blog’s very logo is a pretzel!

The perfect low carb snack!

The most challenging task with keto is shutting down snacks and sugary treats.

So mastering sugar free pretzels is highly recommended as an alternative to unhealthy cravings. These will satisfy even the toughest case of sweet tooth.

Lucky for us, this recipe is a walk in the park. It’s quick and easily baked to perfection.

Making soft pretzels as a snack will quickly become your favorite hobby.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Cream Cheese Glaze

3 Tips for Handling Fathead Dough

When the temperature is warm, your fathead dough will get pretty sticky and stretchy.

Since fathead dough is crucial to making soft carb free pretzels, have 3 simple tips and tricks to handle it.

1. Mix with a rubber spatula from the beginning.

The rubber spatula prevents sticking and is better than working hot dough with your hands.

2. The dough should be a uniform color.

If you see lumps of almond flour (yellow spots) then you’ll need to keep mixing. If it’s getting tough to mix, place back in the microwave for 20 seconds and keep mixing.

3. Only form the dough when it’s warm.

If the cheese cools down it won’t stretch, resulting in lumpy and broken shapes.

Making soft pretzels will become a walk in the park with these smart tips guaranteed to get the perfect fathead dough prepped for our carb free pretzels.

Pair your Sugar Free Pretzels with the Following

There are several ways to compliment your soft and fluffy pretzels.

These pretzels are pillowy soft, and coating them with cinnamon sugar (which is a combination of monkfruit and ground cinnamon) transforms every bite into something heavenly.

Their taste also shines when paired with cream cheese glaze or decadent melted sugar-free chocolate.

Seriously I can’t get enough of them!

How to Store Soft Pretzels

Make sure they are put in an airtight container or wrapped with plastic.

This makes them perfect for meal prepping as a quick bite or late night snack.

I recommend you put them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds after storing them in the fridge.

This method will bring them back to their soft and pillowy texture.

Is there sugar in my sugar free pretzels?

There’s absolutely no sugar in our soft pretzels.

A sugar substitute like Lakanto’s Monkfruit sweetener is perfect for creating sugar free pretzels that taste exactly the same as the original!

Verdict

Making soft pretzels is an easy to follow and quick to execute recipe.

The texture of your pretzels will be ever so soft with the perfect amount of chew.
